Module 8 – Electrolytes, Ionic & Net Ionic Reactions, Precipitation Reactions This module defines electrolytes (substances which break up into ions when you dissolve them in water), describes different ways to write the same chemical reaction depending on what information you want to convey, and what happens when a mixture of aqueous ions forms an insoluble compound.
